Revival of Ummah originally shared: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with a little food) and a non-believer eats in seven intestines (eats much).”
Imam Nawawi explaining this states
“What the hadeeth means is to be content with little in this world and encouraging asceticism and contentment, in addition to the fact that eating little is a good characteristic, and eating a great deal is the opposite.’”
