It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud that: The Prophet of Allah [peace be upon him] disliked ten things:

Yellow dye, meaning Khaluq, changing gray hair, dragging one’s Izar, wearing gold rings, playing with dice (Ki’ab), (a woman) showing her adornment to people to whom it is not permissible for her to show it, reciting Ruqyah, unless it is with Al-Mu’awidhat (Verses seeking refuge with Allah), hanging amulets, removing to ejaculate in other than the right place, and taking away the milk of an infant boy (by having intercourse with his mother)- but he did not say that this is Haram.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Alqama from his mother that A’isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard that the people who lived in a room in her house had some dice. She sent a message to them, “If you do not remove them, I will remove you from my house,” and she reproached them for it.

Muslim (2260) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever plays dice is like one who has dipped his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig.” Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “This hadeeth is quoted as evidence by al-Shaafa’i and the majority of scholars to prove that playing dice is haraam. The phrase ‘dipped his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig’ refers to eating it, and this simile is used to show that this is haraam because it is haraam to eat that.”

Games that involve the use of dice are haraam even if it’s not gambling. There is several ahadeeth on it, and it’s the opinion of the 4 imams.
